Mission

To increase awareness and comprehension of classical performing art forms of Kerala and render all possible muscle, not only to stop the decay of these art forms but also anoint them to their rightful place in the cultural fabric of Kerala by providing the stage to maestros as well as promising young talents.

  • Taking Kathakali into those corners of North Paravur and possibly even other parts of Parur, where it may not have been given due importance in the past.
  • Providing opportunities for budding artistes to play lead roles, which in normal circumstances would be hard to come by.
  • Instilling interest in the young generation, as much as enhancing awareness in the older audience through carefully structured lecture demonstrations.
  • To make up for the lack of opportunities to at least get acquainted with the Indian art tradition and to get to know the art intimately;
  • While enhancing the level of appreciation by the existing Kathakali lovers in the region, attract also the neophytes to this great art form
  • To provide an opportunity for appreciation of the total Kathakali experience by 'immersion' and to elaborate on the Indian art tradition.
  • After every performance, the audience has an opportunity to interact with the artiste and seek elaborations on any aspect of the performance.
  • Acquaint the audience with the mores of the green room, accoutrements including the elaborate garments used in Kathakali.
  • While enhancing the aesthetics of the students here, nourish their creative bent of mind.
  • Increase the acceptance of Kathakali as an art form and thus cultivate opportunities for more public performances.
